The Town of Zakopane is a very special place. It’s unique Góral culture and beautiful surrounding gave the town name of “the winter capital of Poland “. Whole region of Podhale at the foot of the Tatra Mountains , is widely known for its breathtaking views.
Most interesting places to see are:
- Gubałówka Hill Funicular with its panorama of Zakopane
- Wielka Krokiew ski jumping ramp
- Kasprowy Wierch cable car
- Some old chapels and churches
- Several nature and historical museums
- Hundreds of wooden cottages and villas with specific steep roofs
After hours of visiting the city or hiking through mountains you can always take a seat in one of the cafeterias and restaurants, have a delicious meal or try famous oscypek cheese.
